Welcome to Liberia’s Next Top Designer Contest

 

​MISSION

Liberia's Next Top Designer Contest is an initiative of JMK Publicist & Runway Liberia International.

The contest goal is to seek and support up-and-coming Liberian fashion designers, giving those selected to participate in the Competition an opportunity to launch their career. The mission is simple: Develop new talent by offering an interactive platform where designers learn first hand from top fashion experts about the industry, show a capsule collection on a professional runway for nearly 1000 attendees, and are given the opportunity to meet local & international media, buyers, and stylists.

Liberia's Next Top Designer Contest is a designers competition aimed at promoting Liberian Fashion designs and fostering the promotion and development of aspiring Liberian designers on the global fashion stage.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE?
Participants should have originality and a complete sense for fashion.

  • Applicants must have the skill to create their own pieces.

  • Applicants must understand the trends of modern fashion.

  • Applicants must have the ability to translate ethnic to western culture.

  • Applicants must have the ability to research and Source for required materials.

  • Applicants must be able to show their source of inspiration.

THE PROCESS

The audition will be an American Idol Style process:​

  • After designer is all registered with picture taken and given a number they will take to the line,

  • Each designer will be called one by to meet with  panel of judges.

  • Designer will given 1 minute to explain the inspiration of their garment they have sewn. 

  • In two days the 10 finalists will be contacted about them making it to the finals

  • The 10 Finalist will go through a voting process, where the entire Liberia will vote on who they think should be named "Liberia's Next Top Fashion Designer"

 

WHAT TO BRING FOR AUDITION?

  • Registration Fee of $10 USD

  • A garment that designer has designed or sewn within a one year period

  • Come looking like you are applying for a job (Look the part!)
